Relief
There is no right or wrong way to feel after an abortion.
Many women will feel a strong sense of relief afterwards, glad they could make a choice they felt was best for themselves and their families, and feeling they can move forward with their life.
Some may also feel relief that a decision has been made, especially if it was a challenging one, and that the procedure is over.
Relief can also be mixed with other feelings, especially at first.
Even if you were very sure about your decision, and felt OK about having an abortion, an unwanted pregnancy is often very stressful.
Women are much less likely to experience depression after ending a pregnancy than after giving birth.
